Chelsea Company specializes in off-campus apartment rentals in the Downtown/Yale area of New Haven, Connecticut. Chelsea Company family-owned and operated since 1978. Ardelle Cowie, founded the company after graduating from Yale with a Ph.D. in Renaissance English Literature. Now retired, Ardelle has also served as the chair of the New Haven Fair Rent Commission and the Uptown Council (an organization that promoted development on the west side of New Haven in the 80's). Today, Sarah Marconi, Ardelle's daughter, runs the operations of the company along with 8 full-time staff members. Chelsea Company has a full-time leasing office, full-time maintenance staff, and a 24/7 emergency maintenance hotline.
