Spicewood Gardens, owned by HAND Inc., is an affordable apartment community that offers a total of 66 residences to be enjoyed by seniors aged 55 and older. Each apartment features two bedrooms, appliances including a washer and dryer, and accessibility features such as low-step showers and grab bars. Other amenities include a community center and Herron Property Management leasing office as well as a community garden area for use by Spicewood residents. Spicewood Gardens is Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED®) Silver Certified through the United States Green Building Council. Spicewood Gardens, along with Plum Tree Gardens, were the first affordable housing projects to achieve LEED Certification in Central Indiana.
