Developed by Blackbird Investments, the Wilkins Building offers one and two bedroom apartments with large unit footprints. From quartz countertops, stainless steel appliances, and abundant storage with large peninsula countertop overhangs, these units will delight both the home chef and frequent party host alike. The urban loft aesthetic including sealed concrete flooring, contemporary lighting design, and historic plaster ceilings also offers a unique living experience. Significant for its association to the Younkers Department store, Wilkins is the only structural remains of the May 2014 Younkers fire. The Wilkins building was also the first reinforced concrete building in Des Moines.
