Carmel Place

Carmel Place, located at 335 East 27th Street, is New York’s first micro-unit building. This nine-story residence is the product of a 2012 design competition intended to introduce additional choices within New York’s housing market to accommodate the city’s rapidly growing population. Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group collaborated with Monadnock Development on a proposal for the city’s first micro-unit apartment building, originally called “My Micro NY”, and turned out to be the winning proposal selected by the Bloomberg administration. Carmel Place is perfectly situated in a pocket of serenity in Kips Bay, while the East River Esplanade, Gramercy Park, and Madison Square are all just moments away.
