This gem is poised in an area that that offers nearly every venue a Portlander could want. This established residential neighborhood features architecture spanning the early days of Portland at the turn of the century through the more modern lines of the 20th century. The Atherton was built in 1938 as a garden style apartment – rare for this period. It features courtyard entrances to all but 2 of the apartments; those 2 having stairs climbing to the front doors for a lofty view of the surrounding neighborhood. The courtyard is planted with a variety of lush foliage that tantalizes the nose and enchants the eye.
