The Hoven Apartments is an 8-unit apartment building featuring one bedroom loft-style apartments homes. It was designed and built by architect George C. Oistad in 1969 and the name Hoven is Dutch for courtyard or garden. The Hoven Apartments are a great example of 1960’s Contemporary architecture in that it was all focused on function. Most units feature built-in adjustable bookcases along a wall with 20-foot ceilings, giving you endless display options in the main living area. What draws people to the property is its funky exterior. We all know that the U-District is notorious for being short on parking, so the optional reserved parking makes it even more appealing, especially if you're a student.
