Founded in 1940, Monroe Housing Authority (MHA) is one of the largest providers of affordable rental housing in Ouachita Parish. MHA’s diverse real estate portfolio with over 3,500 housing options including a collection of Public Housing, Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC), Section 202, and other mixed finance developments. In addition to these physical properties, MHA also administers portable Housing Choice Vouchers (Section 8) for families. MHA provides housing solutions for individuals and families of modest incomes. Our properties and vouchers are located for the most part within the city limits of Monroe, with some located within Ouachita parish.
